Twubs.com Introduces New Hashtag Registry and Enhanced Features for Live Event Suite
Designed to help event organizers maximize their relationship equity throughout the year
RIVERSIDE, Calif. (Aug. 10, 2009) — Twubs.com, a social media aggregator of Twitter, YouTube, TwitPic, RSS and other feeds around hashtags, today announced a new hashtag registry, which gives any event the ability to register their hashtag(s). Registration prevents multiple uses, helps refine the conversation when entering a Twub, and helps users find conversations relevant to their interests by hashtag type, such as company name, hobby, conference, church, event and others. Register for your event’s hashtag at http://twubs.com/registerhashtag.
In addition, Twubs has enhanced its Live Event Suite functionality for events by adding:
· Branded live moderation - Show organizers can now take full control of their branding and overall experience in their own Twub. For example, http://twubs.com/gmaimmerse. · Enhanced hashtag options - New hashtag options still allows two or more feeds to be merged into one. However, while multiple feeds can be merged into one, each individual feed can still remain its own individual search if desired. · Increased Spam Protection - An administrator for the Twub can now block users and words from a Twub. Tweets sent by any of the users or containing any of the blocked words will not be included in the feed. Since its launch one month ago, the Twubs Event Suite has been used by more than 30 organizations to stream live events and conferences in the U.S., Columbia, Puerto Rico, Iran, Mexico, Australia, Canada, Russia, and Spain. Some of these include:
· Hillsong Conference 2009 · GMA Immerse · Social Media Breakfast · Toleeps · Churches · ChurchMediaDesignTV · Calvin 500 · And even a wedding…
“We are committed to increasing the value and experience of live events,” said Tony Ferraro, president of Twubs. “Twubs will continue to provide tools that empower event organizers to engage conversation before, during and after the event, as well as allow remote attendees to participate. Our goal is to help event organizers maximize their relationship equity throughout the year.”
About Twubs.com Launched in late April, Twubs.com is a groups and search tool that allows users to search for groups through hashtags used on Twitter. After selecting groups they’re interested in, Twubs provides a central community-driven hub or “Twub” where they can access real time tweets, twitpics, and videos without having to click on an external link. Users can further personalize the Twub by creating a description for the hashtag related to the Twub and pull any content from any feed such as RSS or site such as Twitter, YouTube, Vimeo or twitpic into one collaborative environment making it easier to find relevant content for a favorite event or group, or other people with similar interests. Users can search for movie reviews, restaurants, travel destinations, items for sale, jobs and more in real-time from real people — all in one place. They can also embed any Twub into their social networking site that accepts Java script.
