Allows organizers to create a social media hub around a conference

RIVERSIDE, Calif. (June 16, 2009) — Twubs.com, Inc., a Twitter groups and search tool, in conjunction with 360hubs, today announced the release of its Live Event and Conference Suite , which allows conference organizers to  bring together both in-person and online participants of an event or conference. The Suite allows participants to ask questions, view and engage in a real-time tweet stream with aggregated hashtag capabilities, and collaborate creating more value to the content. During the beta stage, the Twubs Live Event and Conference Suite http://Twubs.com/TwubsEventsInfo is being offered free of charge to conference organizers.

“Since Twubs already captures all of the users’ social media content from an event, the next logical step was to develop powerful tools, such as our Live Event and Conference Suite, that would take the event experience to the next collaborative level,” said Tony Ferraro, president of Twubs.com and 360hubs.  “With more than 40 features on our release roadmap, we will continue to execute on our vision to go well beyond hashtags.”

Additional features and modules of Twubs Live Event and Conference Suite include:

  • Live Moderation: From the conference to the classroom, photos, videos and more are included in a moderated environment to be projected at the moderator’s discretion.

  • Tweetup & Event Scheduler: Twubs Tweetup & Event Scheduler allows users to schedule meetings and track attendance, and includes Google Map integration.

  • Conference & Event Aliases:  By merging multiple event hashtags into a single feed, Twubs Aliases feature removes any confusion surrounding the “official” hashtag and makes it easier for attendees to see all of the communication surrounding the conference.

  • Live Event Streaming: Twubs Live Event Streaming allows any event or conference to broadcast sessions over the web using Livestream (formerly Mogulus) and Slideshare.  Users, whether physically or virtually present, can then tweet questions using a #q-EventName hashtag that can then be answered by the panel or presenter.

  • Enhanced Embed Widget: The Twubs Embed Widget enables the entire Twub to be embedded into any web environment using a simple cut and paste.  Conference and event organizers can effectively port the entire feed of tweets, photos, videos, feeds and more to their website.  This allows visitors to their site to quickly see what’s being talked about, relevant information and quickly connect with other attendees.

  • Exhibitor Twubs:  Presenting vendors can maintain their own communication portal within Twubs.com, and link their company’s Twub to the conference’s Twub page.  This provides greater value to the attendees by having everything in one place.

Twubs.com runs on the award-winning360hubs Affinity Hub platform.

About Twubs.com

Launched in late April, Twubs.com is a groups and search tool that allows users to search for groups through hashtags used on Twitter.  After selecting groups they’re interested in, Twubs provides a central community-driven hub or “Twub” where they can access real time tweets, twitpics, and videos without having to click on an external link. Users can further personalize the Twub by creating a description for the hashtag related to the Twub and pull any content from any feed such as RSS or site such as Twitter, YouTube, Vimeo or twitpic into one collaborative environment making it easier to find relevant content for a favorite event or group, or other people with similar interests.  Users can search for movie reviews, restaurants, travel destinations, items for sale, jobs and more in real-time from real people  — all in one place. They can also embed any Twub into their social networking site that accepts Java script.  Twubs.com also recommends users to tweets they should follow based on their respective areas of interest and introduces Twitter users to “Meta-Hashtags,” a classification system for hashtags (#__) that will allow them to identify a purpose for a hashtag and then quickly and easily organize content around it.
